Planning a Child's Birthday Party
by Bree Davis
If your son or daughter's birthday is coming up soon, you better start planning. With a little bit of planning and tons of imagination, you can make his/her birthday absolutely amazing. There are a few things you will need to keep in mind and there are few things you will most certainly do in advance. Just follow my tips and suggestions, and you'll have the perfect party planned out for your child.
1. First you will need to decide how many people you will want invite. If your son or daughter is under the age of 12, you will probably want to invite a combination of children and adults. If you aren't sure how many children to invite, a good rule of thumb is to add to the age of your child. So if you daughter is 5, inviting 7 friends will be perfect.
2. When planning the party out, make sure to take your child's input seriously. It is their birthday party after all, and if you want it to be perfect, they will need to be satisfied with the results as well. Ask your child for their opinion when it comes to the theme of the party. It can be anything from their favorite movie to their favorite sport.
3. Once you nailed down a theme, begin purchasing invitations, decorations and party favors related to it. Also stock up on plenty of snacks and beverages, as well games.
4. Choose the location for the party. It can be on some patio sets in your backyard or you can head off to a theme park. It will vary depending on you budget and the desires of your child, but don't feel obligated to spend an exorbitant amount of cash on the party. It entirely possible to have a great night without overspending.
5. Prepare everything the night before so you aren't running around stressed. Make sure that you've purchased everything you need in advance and you'll reduce the workload on the day of the actual party. Put out the food, plan some games and watch the fun unfold.
